MP Gareth Snell welcomes the Government’s new partnership with UK Hospitality to deliver 100,000 new jobs in the hospitality sector.

• Britain’s leading hospitality businesses including McDonald’s, Nando’s and Fuller’s commit to hiring 100,000 young people not in education, employment or training through a major partnership with UK Hospitality

• Comes as part of wider reforms to ensure young people get the support they need to take up education, training and work opportunities

Gareth Snell, Labour and Co-operative MP for Stoke-on-Trent Central, has welcomed the 100,000 new jobs for unemployed young people, delivered in partnership with UK Hospitality.

As part of a new partnership with UK Hospitality announced today major employers will provide paid employment as well as work experience and training opportunities for 18 to 24-year-olds who are not in education, work or training.

Gareth said: “A young person’s first experience in the workplace can make a lasting difference, providing valuable experience, boosting self-belief and laying the foundations for their future career. I’m pleased that this new partnership will help create more opportunities for young people across Stoke-on-Trent.”

This builds on Labour’s announcement last month of 100,000 jobs in the retail sector, developed with the support of former M&S chief executive Marc Bolland who is convening employers to help the million young people not in education, work or training.
